Remembrance of Lost Species Day

The Remembrance of Lost Species workshop and talk was held at McGill University's Redpath Museum in December 2017. The workshop comprised of a talk on extinction and why it matters as well as a painting class. Extinct animals from the museum's collection (including the Passenger Pigeon, the Labrador Duck, the Eastern Cougar and the Carolina parakeet) were removed from their displays in the museum and carried in a procession through the museum to the atelier where the children could paint them from life.
